NOTD ♥

Hey , Todays post is a nail of the day post , again another first for me getting into this blogging lark now :)
I mentioned on another recent post that I wanted to try some Eyeko nail varnishes so I bought a set of 4 off Ebay. I paid £6 for all four including p&p so I was quite pleased considering they are sold for £4 each on Eyeko's website. Here they are:
From left to right:
Petite Polish
Tea Party Polish
Coral Polish
Nude Polish

My favourites were coral and nude. I have never used a nude shade nail varnish before , so I was really excited to finish uni and get home to try it. I usually stick to pinks and reds so it's nice to try something different:
To be honest I'm not sure at the moment, firstly it took two coats. Also it takes ages to dry fully , so I had to do about three nails again because I smudged them. So I had to add a top coat to try to stop them smudging.
I do like the way they look , but I'm so used to pinks and reds that it's taking a while to get used to a nude colour like I keep thinking I have forgotten to paint my nails. My next NOTD will more than likely be the coral as I'm quite excited to try that too. But for the moment the jury is still out on the nude...

OOTD: Lace&Pearls ♥

Hey , haven't blogged much recently because of exams at uni and it's my first day back tommorow , looking foward to having some routine back in my life and not watching daytime TV.  And without revision I can do some blogging in the evenings hopefully :) Right this is my first OOTD post , although it is strictly a bit of a cheat as it is my outfit from last night. This is the outfit that I spent weeks agonising about. So here it is:
A classy in club toilets photo , but in my defence I forgot to take a decent photo before I left and wanted one before I looked a bit worse for wear. Theme is definately pearls and lace with red nails to add a splash of colour. I would've loved red lips too , but they're really not me.
Dress- Asos £45
Ring and Earrings - Primark
Flower hair clip-Peacocks
Bag - £24.99 River Island
I liked the way the stud detailing on the outfit just to add a bit of an edge to a pretty girly outfit.
Shoes - £15 in Select but they were on buy 1 pair get 1 half price , so I bought these and another pair of nude heels for just £22. I didn't think the lace dress and shoes combo would work at all but it really did. These shoes were the most comfortable AND highest heels i've ever owned. I couldn't believe how comfortable they were, I was fully expecting serious blisters and toe cramps. I kept them on all night and my feet weren't aching at all today. A pair of bargain killer heels that don't hurt  , miracles do happen ladies !

My handbag...

Hey , So recently I've got really into watching Youtube videos expecially What's in my bag ones , but there's no way I'd record myself and put it on youtube  so I'm going to do mine in a blog post instead. This is what's in my bag on a day when I don't have uni when there would be my pencil case , paper and books in there or no work when there would be my lunch and uniform in there. So it does look a bit bare for such a big bag , but usually it's not.
Right firstly this is my handbag ,  it's my pride and joy at the moment. I had it off the OH ( boy got some good taste lol) for Xmas and it's my fourth PB bag :
I love it , I've always loved a Paul's boutique bags and purses ( not fussed on their clothes really) and this is nice and big , I love a big bag.
Right firstly is some New Look vouchers I got handed in town yesterday , I don't think I will end up using them though as I think I would get more off just using the student discount. There only one available online is if you spend £60 or more you get £15 off , so feel free to use this the code which is STQUE15. This is my cupcake diary , which I love, again I need a big diary because last year I ended up filling my smaller diary up so much that I missed deadlines because I couldn't see it written in around all the other stuff , not good !! And then there's my keys , it's got my house key and fob on , a children in need blush bear , Tesco clubcard , pretty bow keyring and mini bourjois lipgloss.
Right I also have my Blackberry ♥ and iPod touch in my bag. And this is my purse which is again Paul's Boutique and another Xmas present. I do tend to change my purses about every week  but the novelty of this once hasn't worn off yet so I'm still using it. But when I get bored no doubt I'll change it to my other PB purse (pale pink) ,black and white Chanel one or River island tan one. Which are all long purses , I have too many cards to squash into a small purse and I like being able to keep my notes straight and where I can see them. The zip compartment is better on a longer purse too because it's easier to see and find your coins in a shop or on the bus.
These are the last things in my bag: hand sanitiser ( i get a bit OCD about clean hands). My pen and blog notebook , to write down any ideas I have when I'm out and about for new blog posts , like wish lists etc. And lastly is what I call my bits and bobs bags , I keep all the little things in here that I don't want rattling around at the bottom of my bag. Such as: plasters , blister plasters , body spray , mini brush , mirror, Nivea lip therapy , Disney princes tissues and some Nurofen.
That's all that's in my bag :)

As you may have seen there is a little bit of a cupcake theme going on , this continues into my make-up storage which you will seen in my upcoming post about how I store my make-up.

Primarks SS11 collection ♥

Hey , After starting to think about my spring/summer wardrobe I was browsing the web for inspiration and came across Primark's campaign shots for their spring/summer collection and now I'm VERY excited for spring and my spring wardrobe. I know some people aren't fussed on Primark for different reasons but I love it, mainly because of the price and no the clothes don't last long but neither does fashion and neither does my taste so it's perfect for me. There's quite a variety of different trends in this collection and definitely something for everyone. I think fashion wise this is one of the best collections Primark has come up with and still very reasonably priced. There's quite a few retro/vintage style summer dresses , nautical wear is back and a bit of 70's in there too with some flared trousers. Here are some of my favourite pieces:
In store now: £6
I love this bag , and think it will look amzing with a retro summer dress and big floppy sun hat for a really 50's inspired outfit.
Top , In store end Feb:£8
I really love off the shoulder top and love the lace detail on this as well, it's a bit too see through for me so i'd layer a white vest underneath. There's definitely hints of hippy chick in the collection with the daisys in the models hair. This headband is in store now and is £2.
Dress, £15, due in store March, wedges, £12, due in store Feb and satchel, £7, due in store March
There is nothing I don't like about this outfit . The dress is something that would look out of place in Topshop at more than twice that price. The colour , shape and material is amazing. But my favourite thing from the whole collection is the wedges. I love wedges in general but these are amazing  and are due in store in Feb , can't wait!
In store now: £17
I love the shape of this jacket and its perfect to layer over dresses in the spring, for work or more formal ocassions . When I first saw it , it reminded me of someone who works blazers really well:
Kate Cassidy as Gossip Girl's Juliet rocks blazers and shows just how glamorous yet smart blazers can look. This one in partiuclar looks really similar to the primark one , except I bet it isn't just £17. She works all different types of blazer:

And lastly some of primarks nautical pieces:

jumper £10, due in store ,shorts, £6, due in store mid Feb wedges, £14, due in store end Feb, holdall £6, due in store mid Feb
Again wedges ♥ slightly obsessed I think. I love the bag , because Im a fan of big bags particuarly for uni files and books and its just £6.
That's all for now , take a look at the collection for yourself because theres loads more :

Avon Nail Varnish ♥

Hey everyone , todays post is one of my favourite beauty things , Nail Varnish . I love painting my nails and always have painted nails.I have loads of nail varnishes. My favourite nail varnish is Barry M , but seeing as I own all the colours I like I was getting bored of not being able to buy new nail varnishes so I decided to give avon nail varnish a go after looking at them in the catalogue and ordered four:

Firstly excuse my nails , Im a recovering nail biter and Im still trying to get my nails back into good condition don't judge me lol.
The first nail varnish is called viva pink and is the best hot pink shade I've ever had, really gorgeous shade.
Second one is called romance and is a gorgeous pink with a hint of a shimmer  but is still quite subtle.
Third is grey cement and is a matte shade , not 100% fussed on grey as a matte other colours look good in a matte but grey just looks like you have literally dipped your finger in cement. Grey is definately a colour that need a bit of gloss.
Lastly is vintage blue and is my favourite of the four I was a bit dubious when I ordered it as I thought because it's so light its not going to show up well without loads of coats. But it came up as bright as that with just one coat. Really nice shade for spring I think.

Generally all the nail varnishes are really good , in the picture I have only applied one layer of all the colours and they come up good with just one coat so saves time when painting your nails. Also they don't chip nearly as much as the Barry M ones do.  And at just £3 a bottle , they are well worth it. may look into getting some more with my next avon order.

I have also recently heard about eyeko nail and models own nail varnish so Im in the process of buying some online which im looking foward to trying and adding to my ever growing collection of nail varnishes

What I've been buying...

Hey :) Today I went shopping and had a really good day, well I think its good but the hole in my student loan probably says otherwise lol. So I'm really pleased with my purchases today because I've made a start on my spring wardrobe and I'm loving some of the trends that are going to be around this spring/summer.

The first shop I went in was Boots only because I needed some face wipes but turns out today was the 75% off sale so my timing was spot on and I bought a few bargains despite it being chaos in there:
The fragrance set is rock angel and it contains the perfume , body lotion and a gorgeous lace make up bag . This was £10 down to£2.50. This is my favourite bargain I think.
The 17 dazzle eyes collection contains 2 eye pencils , 3 liquid eye-liners and 3 eye-shadow pots,which was £15 down to £3.75.
I bought the Fearne Cotton Made you look , made you stare handbag compact. This was £10 down to £2.50.
Next is the Fearne Cotton compact and bijou , this was £15 down to £3.75.
Lastly is a Bobbypin lip and eye compact £8 down to just £2.

I also bought a high school musical set for just £2 which had a perfume , spray and 2 wristbands. Perfect for the OH's little sister. A love hearts type gift set with 2 sprays and 2 lip balms for £1.25. And I also got a lovely card and envelope box set which has a gorgeous teal and brown flower pattern on for just £2. Overall I was really impressed with the stuff I got , it was the first time I'd been to this sale and I was only there by chance . It was chaos though , people buying LOADS and the shop was a mess.

My other big spend was in New Look , but I did get 20% off student discount :) My original bill was £119 which went down to £75 after student discount and some special offers that New Look have got at the moment. Like these wedges which are £14.99 at the moment down from  £24.99.
I love these wedges , they are a gorgeous shade and I think they will look amazing in the spring with cropped skinny jeans and little cardys . I love wedges as I find they are easier to walk in than heels and don't feel as formal as heels yet still add a glamorous element to your outfit. Of course I had to buy said cropped skinnies to wear with them:
I love the shape of these jeans and think they will look good with flats , wedges , heels , sandals and boots. They are really flattering on as well and come with a skinny belt although its not shown on the picture from the website. Online they are reduced to £14.99 but in store the lighter pair are £19.99 but the dark pair are reduced.I bought another pair of jeans which were more of a straight leg , to wear with flats. Im really happy with my jeans because I feel like I've lived in denim and black leggings all winter. Another item is New Look have on offer is this cardy:
I think it's so cute and at £14.99 I couldn't resist particularly because I love the coral shade of the bows and I bought a £2.99 vest to match.  I also went to buy a baseball style jacket but they didn't have many left and none were my size :( But i really love the trend and would wear it with a plain vest, new skinnies and some beiged heeled sports boots I've seen in there.

Lastly I couldn't leave without some primark jewellery , its like an obsession and was quite excited because I havent been shopping for a while so found a few new things in the jewellery section.

The ring I wasn't sure about at first as I thought it was maybe a bit big but once I tried it on I loved it , and for just £2. I love the bracelet on the left because the beads are so chunky and I love the floral, pink and pearl combination so of my favourite trends in once bracelet.
That's my little haul for today :)

I wish..... ♥

Hey , so as promised yesterday here is this week's list of things Im loving at the moment. This week there is a bit of a theme going on because I'm going out with work soon so most things I've been ogling online have been dresses to wear out.

Lipsy - £32.50 in the sale
I absolutely love this dress  especially as it's half price. It would make a change from the usual little black dresses I tend to go for and I have a gorgeous silver jewelled clutch that will go perfectly. However typically it's not available in any size on the lipsy website and I've searched ebay and other lipsy stockists but I can't find it anywhere :( Any ideas would be greatly welcomed because I can't let myself choose another dress while i've still got my heart set on this one.
I've even found the shoes I would have worn with them from Dorothy Perkins , they are £50 but the dress was half price and silver is a colour that will go with other dresses in the future as well. Haha , this is one of my key quotes when tying to justify buying something new and I never do wear them again but it's worth a try.
I just think they are so beautiful , they are really glamorous and the shape is so unusual. Continuing on the shoe theme I'm also loving this river island boots:
When I first saw these I wasn't fussed on them at all but the more I see them the more I like them especially the fur they look really cosy! The problem is that i'm not sure I can justify another pair of boots this winter. Especially seeing as I bought 8 new pairs this winter already , oops! I just think they'd go so nice with a vintage style floral dress and a satchel. Perfect uni outfit.

Moving away from clothes now , superdrug have got a good offer on Aussie products at the moment:
They are selling the shampoo's and conditioners for just £2.49 and just £2.99 for the treatments and serums. I want the take the heat shampoo , conditioner and treatment because I blow-dry and straighten my hair a lot so try to look after it as much as I can. This is one of the best offers I have seen on Aussie products. Lastly how awesome is this:
A little steep at £34.99(with free delivery) but how cool is this hamper? There is nothing there I don't love but I think my favourites are the dib dabs , candy watches and the chocolate cigarettes which I used to smoke/eat when I was little. You could always use the hamper afterwards as well. This is off the website :
Lots of cool stuff on this website especially with valentines day coming up and you get 15% off all valentines gift if you enter CUPID15 at the checkout.

New year , new blog...

Hey , I'm Carys and this is my very first blog post. So this is just going to be a short first blog to make a start because otherwise I'll end up staring at a blank screen for hours. I've read a lot of other peoples blog's and really enjoyed reading about other peoples lives so much so it's inspired me to write my own blog. Mainly it's going to be about  fashion and beauty , no doubt there will be a few random posts along the way though.  I'm not a writer though so my spelling and grammar are not always great , I will try my best though. My plan for my second blog is my wish-list for this week , this will be a weekly blog post of the things I'm in love with that week and that I'm trying to persuade myself I have to buy because I couldn't possibly live without, something I seem to be really good at.
